We know many in our community are excited and hopeful about the COVID-19 vaccine and that many are anxious to receive it. We are also looking forward to providing the vaccine to as many of our community members as possible in the future as supplies allow. Currently, supply remains limited and we continue to follow federal and state guidelines to prioritize immunizations of health care providers that provide direct care to our community and patients.
Some people have asked why Texas Health Hospital Rockwall isn’t listed as a vaccination hub.
Our hospital is part of the Texas Health Resources system, which the Texas Department of State Health Services has named as a vaccination hub. All Texas Health hospitals fall under this umbrella. We continue to work closely with our Texas Health Resources system, and as soon as supply allows, we will provide updates specific to our hospital. At this time, we cannot predict timing to vaccinate outside of the recommended groups.
In the meantime, we recommend that our community watch for updates on the Department of State Health Services website provided below. Here you will find general information on the vaccine, recommended groups and providers. Please keep in mind that supply remains very limited and those listed may not have vaccine readily available so patience and grace is appreciated until supplies have reached levels to meet the demand.
Until the vaccine becomes more readily available please continue to practice safe measures by wearing a mask, limiting group activities, washing your hands and taking good care of yourself.
