Texas Health Rockwall Earns Straight A’s Since 2012
The Leapfrog Group announced its list of Safety Score recipients and noted that Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall earned an “A” in patient safety for the 10th grading period in a row. The hospital is part of a small number who have been awarded Straight “A’s” since 2012.
Texas Health Rockwall has earned a reputation in their community and nationally for providing high quality care. Yet their mission to strive even further continues as they journey to be a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Kerry Baucom, Senior Director of Quality and Risk explains, “Our hospital has never been complacent in our successes. While we celebrate the achievements, we always recognize that we can do more. The landscape of healthcare is always changing and we are prepared to adapt along with it.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses publicly available hospital data to assign grades of A, B, C, D or F to over 2600 hospital twice a year. The grades are calculated by patient safety experts, peer-reviewed and are made available free of charge to the public. These grades allow patients to evaluate the health care offerings in their community to make better decisions and ask important questions for the health and safety of their family, friends and loved ones.
“I am so very proud of our team for always striving to be the best” said Cindy Paris, RN, FACHE, hospital president. “From our front line caregivers to the physicians and those behind the scenes we see each person continually focused on what is best for the patient. I am proud to say that is the guiding principle behind everything we do.”
