Confirming its commitment to breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding for newborns and infants, Texas Health Rockwall earned re-designation to the Texas Ten Step Program. The hospital, also named a Mother Friendly Worksite, offers a full range of classes and support options for the breastfeeding mom.

Being a part of the program, which encourages breastfeeding, Texas Health Rockwall continues their focus on helping new mothers in their decision to breastfeed.  Cindee Phillips, RN, IBCLC, serves as the Childbirth Educator at Texas Health Rockwall.  Offering education to new moms and dads prior to delivery as well as support and assistance after delivery is all part of her mission, and passion.

Recognizing that breastfeeding isn’t always easy, Cindee says that her role is to “be there offering support any time a mom encounters a roadblock during the breastfeeding process”.  “Moms, especially new moms, can get discouraged if things aren’t going according to plans,” says Cindee.  “My role is to offer tools and encouragement as they find solutions and uncover what works best for them and their new baby.  Everything we do is to help mom and baby have a successful breastfeeding experience.”
